Dr. Nina Rios-Doria had to learn to adapt at an early age. Her family moved often. She lived in Kansas, Michigan, Ohio, and also Iowa! Finally, her family settled in Texas when she was 19 years of age. Nina’s been a proud Texan ever since, residing in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Nina had a lot of growing pains as a teen and young adult but her life changed a lot when she arrived in Dallas, Texas in her early twenties. She found a new sense of purpose and her relationship to Christ strengthened. She let go of any worries, doubts, or insecurities and let God lead the way in all areas of her life. In her twenties, Nina learned a lot about who she was and her new direction. She found she had a passion for helping people, especially children and teens. God led her to obtain her Masters degree in Counseling and afterwards, her PhD in Child Development. She gives all of the glory to God because her faith in Him gave her the passion to succeed. As stated in Scripture, “Being confident of this very thing: that he who hath begun a good work in you will perfect it unto the day of Christ Jesus”. Philippians 1:5 Nina's journey has not been without setbacks, rejections, and disappointments, however she learned to bounce back and keep moving forward through it all. “Life will take you where you want to go but you have to have the willingness, mindset and perseverance to do what God has planned for you to do.” Nina believes. Nina started a ministry to offer support and encouragement to a larger audience through radio in 2006. The show focuses on inspiring and educating listeners to prayerfully find their purpose and to overcome the challenging times in life. She loves doing this show and her local TV show called, “Extraordinary People in Fort Worth”. Nina hosted her first conference in February, 2008- “Passionate Heart, Passionate Purpose” and hopes to do more in the near future. She never anticipated that her life would follow this path, but she is grateful for God’s direction and believes if you trust in Him, He will lead you to the place he has planned for you. Nina and her husband, Rob, attend church in Colleyville, TX. They are proud parents of their first child born in 2007 named Jazzlynn. She is blessed to have her immediate family in Dallas Texas as well. Sadly, Nina’s father died suddenly in July of 2005. She will always hold him in the highest esteem for giving her the courage and strength to believe she could accomplish anything in life “as long as you trust God as you do it”. Her hobbies include martial arts, running, swimming and golf. Nina recently completed her first Sprint Triathlon in Dallas and plans to do more!
